The season for asparagus is short and lasts only 2 months. Asparagus is a very tender and delicious vegetable, we are going to use it today in our recipe:
- 1 bunch of asparagus
- 1 chicken breast
- 15 dkg (0.33lb) of bacon
- 1 onion
- 200 ml (6.8 oz) of double cream
- 40 dkg (0.88lb) of penne
- 3 dkg (0.07lb)of butter
- Nutmeg
- Parmesan
- Parsley
- Salt
- Pepper
Cut the chicken breast into strips, season with salt and pepper. Wash asparagus, cut wooden ends and slice into the same size pieces. Cut bacon into strips and onion into squares. Chop parsley thinly.
Turn on programme Saute and add butter. When it melts, add bacon and gently fry it.
Put chicken into the pot and fry for a little bit longer.
Add onion and fry altogether.
Turn off programme Saute, add 2.5 cups of water (600ml; 20.4 oz), cream, nutmeg, half of parsley, half tsp of salt and 40 dkg (0.88lb) of penne. Mix everything.
Close the lid, move the valve into sealing position and programme manual for 2min. After the programme finishes, move valve into venting position and remove the pressure from the pot (QR). Add asparagus.
Close the lid again, move the valve into sealing position and programme manual for additional 2min. After the programme finishes, move valve into venting position and remove the pressure from the pot (QR). It is important to remove the pressure quickly so our pasta and asparagus will not overcook. Remove the lid and add pepper. Season if needed. Your dish is ready, serve with grated Parmesan.
